Dorothy Capers, MSW, SWIAC (License Eligible) is an Independent Social Worker. She graduated with her Bachelors in Human Services, Western Washington University, and Masters in Social Work Administration from the University of Washington in 1999. She has extensive training in Mental Health Counseling and is extremely resourceful in connecting families to community resources.
Dorothy has contracted with Working Choices for over 4 years. She specializes in providing Family Preservation Services (FPS), (CFI), and is one of four King County Trainers for Project SafeCare Parenting Program (Parent-Child Interaction, Home Safety and Health). The 16-week Project SafeCare modules address the multiple risk factors for child abuse and neglect, teaches parents a broad range of skills, provides training in home settings, focus on typical daily activities.
Her clinical experience includes providing individual, family and group therapy for over 15 years; specializing in elder and disabled adult neglect and abuse issues with the City and County of San Francisco, and working with Department of Social and Human Services clients; specifically Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Medicaid, General Assistance (GAU) clients and as a Social Security Insurance (SSI) facilitator.
