Beginning in 1993, Michael focused his career as a Marriage and Family Therapist on treating people in crisis. He has specific training and experience in: adoption, sexual abuse, domestic violence, court ordered or court involved clients, and first-responders.
While genetically British and North European, Michael has a multi-cultural and multi-national background. Beginning in 2005 he started focusing on trauma treatment and resiliency support. He has completed specific training programs in CISM, EMDR Therapy, Formative Psychology, Child Sexual abuse treatment, Domestic Violence intervention, Clinical Supervision, ASIST suicide prevention, Yoga Nidra.
As a systems thinker, he seeks to identify the life-cycle of the identified problem, the points of potential intervention, and the resources available. As Boy’s Intervention Counselor in a DV shelter, he learned to connect with frightened and confused children. Working with court involved adults, both in and out of custody, he learned to set clear, achievable goals when trust is difficult.
